Mount Morgan

Located about half an hours drive south-east of Rockhampton this historic gold mining town is worth spending a few hours to have a look at. Established as a gold mining town in 1882 the mine closed after 99 years in 1981. Call in to the Railway station & tourist information & the Historical Museum in Morgan Street. Take in a view of the old mine from Tipperary Point or head to Big Dam for a BBQ lunch or to wet a line.
